I’m a BeachBody Coach!

A year and a half ago I heard of P90X and started doing it. I fell in love! My fitness goal in life has always been to look good with my shirt off. I didn’t achieve that until I started using BeachBody products like P90X and Insanity. You can read my review of some of the programs, here.

I believe in the product so much that I actually started studying the company a lot. I found out that I could actually become a BeachBody Coach and make money by selling BeachBody products and helping people reach their physical goals. So I became a coach! It’s $15 a month, I get a 25% discount on Beachbody products, and I make commission every time I sell a workout program or shakeology! It’s a great deal!

Now, to be honest, it is a multi-level marketing company. To be even more honest, I’ve hated multi-level marketing companies for years! I’ve made fun of them, criticized them, and felt bad for people involved in them. Then I read this book, and Robert Kiyosaki said he recommend being in one for a period of time. In this video, he explains why:

Tony Horton, creator of P90X, actually blogged about BeachBody Coaches here. I really liked when he said, “Did you say multi level marketing? What? Ick! You mean pyramid scheme right? Okay chill out. All these fears would be true if BeachBody were selling hats or kitty liter, but this is Beachbody people! The number 1 in-home fitness company on the planet! P90X is steadily becoming the most popular fitness system in US history.”

If you’ve used BeachBody products, if they’ve changed your life, if you promote them to others, you should become a BeachBody Coach as well! If you’re interested, just let me know!

If you’re interested in buying BeachBody products like P90X & Insanity, or know someone that does, you can shop here!

If you or someone you know is interested in Shakeology, you can buy that here.

Now with all of that said, I will never put this in front of my walk with God or ministry. I will never meet with people with the sole purpose of going over these things or to ask them to become a coach. I’ll never tell anyone, “God told me to meet with you about an opportunity.” If someone is interested in getting in shape, making a little extra income on the side, or learning sales and they express interest, I’ll talk to them. I just wanted to make that clear, because the people that do that are the people that drive me nuts!

Is God not Enough?

11 “Is God’s comfort too little for you? Is his gentle word not enough? 12 What has taken away your reason? What has weakened your vision,13 that you turn against God and say all these evil things?           -Job 15:11-13

Do you ever have circumstances come into your life where it feels like even God won’t be able to get you through it? Maybe you’ve been a Christian for a while, and you know what God’s Word says about your situation, but your heart has become hardened.

I read those verses in Job and was blown away! “Is God’s comfort to little for you? Is His gentle Word not enough? What’s taken away your reason? What has weakened your vision to the point where you’re questioning God’s ability to get you through?

Toward the end of the book of Job, God asks him, “Where were you when I created the universe? The Heavens? The earth?”It was this question that finally got Job back on track, back to believing in the goodness of God.

I think sometimes we forget who it is we serve. I know I do. We serve the creator of the universe. Anytime we get our eyes on anything other than the greatness of God, our reason will be taken away and our vision will weaken.

God is always enough.

We just have to make a concious to decision to trust Him with everything in us and not lean to our own understanding. If you find your reasoning being taken away and your vision weakening, you’re not trusting God.

Spend some time in worship and prayer. Thank God for all the good things He’s done in your life. As you press into Him, the hardness in your heart will fade, and God will lift you from your current situation.

Book Review: Linchpin: Are You Indipensible? (A Must Read from Seth Godin)

Seth Godin is definitely a linchpin. He is indispensable. Why?  He knows he has something of value to offer to the world. Because of this knowledge, he ships -> he gives what he has to the world, and as a result thousands of people and organizations are in a better place. If he didn’t give what he has away, it would be to the detriment of all of those people and organizations. This makes Seth indispensable.

This book will at least give you the inspiration and motivation to become indispensable, of course, what you do with the knowledge gained through this book is what will actually matter. My summary of the book: Stop doing things that anybody else could do, and start doing things that will make you stand out, that make you indispensable. To do anything else is a waste of your talent, time, and to be honest, your life.

This was one of the best books I’ve ever read. If you’re plan on doing anything with your life, including actually having a job, you need to read this book.

Final Grade: 10/10   Buy It Here: Linchpin: Are You Indispensable?

Here are some of my highlights:

  • You can train yourself to matter.
  • The only way to grow is to stand out, to create something worth talking about, to treat people with respect and to have them spread the word.
  • “Not My Job” Three words can kill an entire organization.
  • What They Should Teach in School Only two things: 1. Solve interesting problems 2. Lead
  • If you can’t be remarkable, perhaps you should consider doing nothing until you can.
  • If you don’t have a résumé, what do you have? How about three extraordinary letters of recommendation from people the employer knows or respects? Or a sophisticated project an employer can see or touch? Or a reputation that precedes you? Or a blog that is so compelling and insightful that they have no choice but to follow up?
  • The linchpin says, “I don’t want a job that a non-linchpin could get
  • ”A day’s work for a day’s pay (work <=> pay). I hate this approach to life. It cheapens us.
  • It’s okay to have someone you work for, someone who watches over you, someone who pays you. But the moment you treat that person like a boss, like someone in charge of your movements and your output, you are a cog, not an artist.
  • I think the discipline of shipping is essential in the long-term path to becoming indispensable.
  • If you are working only for the person you report to according to the org chart, you may be sacrificing your future.
  • If your agenda is set by someone else and it doesn’t lead you where you want to go, why is it your agenda?
  • Linchpins don’t need authority. It’s not part of the deal. Authority matters only in the factory, not in your world.
  • Mentoring is rarely about the facts of the deal (the facts are easily found), but instead is a transfer of emotion and confidence.
  • When you meet someone, you need to have a superpower. If you don’t, you’re just another handshake.
