Tunch and Wolf’s Walk for the Homeless 2012

On Saturday, May 12th, Light of Life will be having their 10th annual Tunch and Wolf’s Walk for the Homeless at Heinz Field. It’s a great event and it is our biggest fund-raiser of the year! Below is a great promotion video for the Walk that our team put together. I can’t encourage you enough to come to this event! It’s a great day and supports a great cause!

If you would like to register for the Walk, click here.

If you’d like to volunteer at the Walk or if you would like to be a Walk sponsor, e-mail me at dougsmith@lightoflife.org or call me at 412.803.4161.

One Year at Light of Life

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ -Matthew 25:34-40

I have been working at Light of Life Rescue Mission for one year now. It has been an incredible experience. When I first got the job, I thought it was just going to be another job. I was wrong. Working there has made a huge impact on my life. If you don’t know a lot about what Light of Life does, watch this video:

Snapshots

Our lives are made up of snapshots. In my 26 years of life, I can look back on my life and see some of my snapshots.

A snapshot of me in middle school would show you a young, funny, overweight, insecure, hopeless romantic wishing one day that he would find a girl who would fall in love with him. You would also see a young christian who believed he was called to go into ministry.

If you took a snapshot of me in high school you would see a young kid whose mother was ill and dad worked a lot, a kid who experimented a lot with drugs, sold drugs, and ended up graduating with a 1.6 GPA.

When I was in middle school and high school, my snapshots told me that I’d never find someone who would fall in love with me and I would never amount to anything in life.
