God Shaped Hole

I’m sitting in Panera Bread right now doing some work, catching up on some reading, and listening to some worship music. I was reading the Word and the song “God Shaped Hole” by Ryan Phipps starting playing.

I almost started weeping in the middle of Panera Bread! This is one of my favorite songs and the truth found in the lyrics have changed my life. Here they are:

If I owned every kingdom in the world, I’d still need You inside of me.

If I climbed every mountain in the world, I’d still need You inside of me.

If I was better than every person in the world, I’d still need you inside of me.

And if I liked what the mirror said to me, I’d still need you inside of me. I’d still need you inside of me.

The more I live the more I see a God Shaped Hole inside of me.

I need to constantly remind myself of this truth… I have everything I need in Him. Regardless of what I do in life, what I achieve, and who I become…that will never take away my need from an intimate relationship with Him.

Movie Review: Batman The Dark Knight

No Spoilers… so you may continue! I have been anticipating this movie coming out since Batman Begins two or three years ago. I ended up seeing it two times on opening day! Both times I thought it was incredible (except the 2nd time the theater’s AC shut off and I was sweating bullets)

Heath Ledger should win every award possible for his role as the joker. It was one of the best characters I’ve ever seen! He was unbelievable.

Story was good, action was great, acting was great . . . a Must See!!!

Pushing Through Barriers

Have you ever felt like you’re just treading in water in life. There is so much going on around you and you feel a lot of pressure and you start to wonder if you’ll make it through this season?

Since I got on staff with Rev, it has been a wonderful experience. I have had an absolute blast and I mean it when I say that I haven’t worked a day yet (because I love it so much).

However, I have been and am currently being stretched more than I ever have in my life. There is a lot of responsibility and it’s easy to think that everything depends on you (which isn’t true). It can almost very frustrating unless you keep your eyes on God and realize that He’s called you to do this. I wanted to share two quotes that have helped me push through barriers in the past 7 months:

  • “God cares more about you than what you do for Him.” – PL
  • “God will throw you into things and seasons that you don’t think you’re ready for yet, but God knows when you’re ready.” -Scott Fletcher

Simply reminding myself of these truths over and over again has enabled me to push through the barriers that come my way! God’s called us and He has equipped us for such a time as this!
